Mentorship Program

Jennifer O'Connor and Erica Clark were selected as student mentors for '10-'11 during the 73rd Annual Convention in Wichita, Kansas. They will be working closely with board members to become familiar with the society and issues brought to the board. Good luck on the coming year!

The student mentor program is designed to assign 1st year Radiologic Technology students from the RT programs in the state to individual KSRT board members. A committee selects 3 applicants and assign each to one of the following Board members; The President, The Immediate Past President, and the Secretary Treasurer. The student mentors are announced at the annual convention and begin their term immediately.

Program Objectives:

Increase student member involvement in the KSRT

Increase retention of student members

Educate students on the business of the KSRT

Provide the KSRT board with more student input

Provide an opportunity to KSRT student members to work within their professional organization

Provide student members with the opportunity to develop leadership skills

Eligibility:

Students are to be nominated by a faculty member of the program that they are enrolled in, or by a technologist directly involved with training of that student.

To be considered for the mentorship program all nominees’ must meet the following criteria.

Nomination by faculty member of the program that they are endrolled in, or by a technologist directly involved with their training.

Compose a letter of accepting that nomination.

Currently enrolled in the first year of training in a RT program or clinical facility in the state of Kansas.

Current Student Membership in the KSRT. If not a member a membership applicatin is to accompany their letter accepting the nomination.

Availability to attend board meetings and other requirements of the position.
